Inspirational Stories

After the underlying organizing structure is in place, some clients take the “Homework” list we create together and zip through it.

The sidebar quote on the right shows an example of a client who accomplished a large number of tasks as homework after Jill left.

First, as you read it, take note of what a client can accomplish with a clearly drawn out space plan for furniture.

Second, see how the shift of where things are placed in the house gets the client revved up to do all the annoying maintenance and odd to-do’s.

Best of all, a group of friends came over and no bags or boxes of clutter were shoved into closets or storage room before they arrived!!!

Months after completion of their organizing projects, other clients who worked with Jill-of-all-Trades experienced amazing personal growth –

One client, a young real estate agent, lost 60 pounds and was chosen by her gym to be featured in a YouTube video doing a grueling 10-minute routine with kettleballs and pull-ups/push-ups performed at a fever pitch.

Another client, a fundraising executive, was living with furniture and belongings from her college days. After organizing her living space, she hired a Feng Shui architect and with the help of a general contractor and interior decorator – she transformed her townhouse from a dark, bland and boxy space to a jaw-dropping showcase of light, bright, tropical colors; gorgeous furnishings; whimsical lighting and fantastic art.

On Deciding to Call Jill:

“I finally realized that organizing is just not my strength. I’m not good at it; I don’t like doing it by myself and I don’t need to drag it out, waste time, and punish myself by not getting these jobs done. So, I did the sensible thing. I hired an organizer, Jill-of-all-Trades. The structure and processes are still working years later. It doesn’t mean things never fall apart from working long hours. But, the basic structure is in place and I continue to refine it and to downsize more each year.”

On Quick Progress After Jill Left:

Here’s my progress report since you left –
Albums and books moved downstairs; partitioned shelves moved upstairs; music from on top of piano placed on shelves; red couch and large coffee table moved into office; (fabulous – might keep coffee table after all!)

Round table, rocking chair and leg massager moved into fiber room; yarn sorted and put away, all laundry folded and put away. Cleaning people did all floors, dusting, windows, vacuumed furniture; I took slip covers to be laundered.

I have researched, but not settled on new toilets. I have an antique guy coming to look at all the little tables and some other pieces that need to be repaired/appraised. I’ve assembled things that need to be framed and have a call in to a framer. Book club was much fun. All were impressed.
